Bodies of Work IV exhibition Submissions The works I am bringing aim to spark the conversation around the hypersexualization of women and the social media prostitution epidemic. How many likes while I get if I show off my body? Can we monetize the images? At the same time, as a man, who is attracted to (or has been conditioned to be attracted to) beautiful, sexy women, making this art serves as a form of Jungian 'shadow work' which allows me to accept this primal instinct while merging it with creativity as an outlet to transform the images into something new.

Three submissions for the Tex Pop Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition.
Xipe Tótec, conocido como "Nuestro Señor el Desollado". Era el dios de la agricultura, la fertilidad. Se le asociaba con el desollamiento, un ritual donde se sacrificaba a humanos y se les quitaba la piel, simbolizando la renovación de la tierra y la siembra. Xipe Tótec representa la dualidad de la vida y la muerte, la renovación y el sacrificio. Su desollamiento simboliza el ciclo natural de las plantas que pierden sus hojas viejas para dar paso a nuevas.

Art Under 100 - 9/27/25

Xipe Totec ("Our Flayed Lord") was a Mesoamerican deity, prominently worshipped by the Aztecs as the god of agriculture, vegetation, and renewal, as well as a source of diseases. His cult emphasized a cycle of death and rebirth, symbolized by the flayed skin of sacrificed victims being worn by priests to represent the shedding of the old and the emergence of new life.
Joseph Campbell's phrase "follow your bliss" encourages people to pursue their deepest passions and interests, believing that this path leads to greater purpose and fulfillment. He suggested that when you align your life with your innate excitement and joy, opportunities and support from the universe will emerge, creating doors where there were previously obstacles.

Being a white Mexican American, I’ve related to Miklo from Blood in Blood out and found this event a great opportunity to connect and share a bit of my life experiences with the audience. This is a self portrait piece exploring identity, labels and stereotypes. Based on what I look like, people have a preconceived idea of who I am without even knowing me. In this series I created a few images of words I've been called. I would like to challenge everyone to try and see/greet new people with a blank slate and treat them as their own unique individual.

Muchas de estas pinturas fueron creadas en conjunto con mis hijos Leo y Pablo. La tecnica es simple, posiciona un lienzo en el suelo y acomoda varias pinturas alrededor. Permitele a los niños escoger los colores, y las cantidades, Dejalos que pinten y hagan lo que se les de la shingada gana dijeras. Al mismo tiempo yo me tome la libertad de hacer lo mismo, y juntos fuimos creando la base de la pintura. De ahi se trabaja con pinceles, dedos, patas, lo que sea, el chiste es divertirse. Yo como adulto y la mente ya corrupta le fui metiendo pincel y mas o menos creando cosas que veia en mi mente.
